Fast ForWord

Fast ForWord is a cost-effective investment in an individual's future.  The program is individualised and adapts to their learning needs.  Ladybird Learning is an authorised provider of the Fast ForWord program to the residents of Queensland, Western Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania.

Too many times have I seen a child make improvements in some areas but continue to struggle either in the classroom or in the tutoring session even though I know that I have been providing high quality teaching and intervention, specific to that child.

It is heart-breaking for the parent to sit by and watch as well as disheartening for the child who is putting in so much effort, and simply seeming to forget what he/she has just learned.

Fast ForWord is unlike any other learning programme
or educational software available.

Fast ForWord works on improving the brain’s “hardware” so that the teaching and tuition can be better absorbed and retained. The Learning MAPS  are essential to the way messages travel in the brain.  In order to learn optimally and have effective skills for literacy, we need to improve our skills in:

Fast ForWord Comprehension Phonemic Awareness Memory Attention Processing Sequencing

                               Memory,

                              Attention,

                              Processing and

                              Sequencing.

The Fast ForWord programs have been developed from advances in neuroscience research over the last 30 years from fundamental research by some of the world’s most eminent neuroscientists.

Chapter 3 of “The Brain the Changes Itself” by Norman Doidge refers to the Fast ForWord program and Dr Michael Merzenich, Ph.D., who has been a leading pioneer in brain plasticity research.  Dr Merzenich was on the team that invented the cochlear implant and was the founding CEO of Scientific Learning Corporation, the parent company of Fast ForWord.
